Do You Know Mike Moran?

Mike MoranMike has lived in Lavaca since 2007, and is one of the original ‘pioneers’ who bought a town home in Artisan Park — formerly the site of the Victoria Courts. He remembers getting lost inside the Courts in the 90′s when looking to park for a Spurs game at the Alamodome. At the time, Mike felt it was an intimidating place, with no apparent exit!

Mike was born in Findlay, Ohio, but his father (an accountant) was always seeking better job opportunities, so the family moved around a lot. For example, he started high school in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, transferred to Greece, New York, and graduated from Denton High School in north Texas. He earned a B.A. in English from the University of North Texas and a M.A. in English at the University of Texas in Austin. Continue reading

The maximum reimbursement amounts are:

  • Neuter of a Male Dog: $50
  • Spay of a Female Dog: $70
  • Neuter of a Male Cat: $30
  • Spay of a Female Cat: $40
  • Rabies Vaccination: $10
  • Feline Combo Testing: $15
  • Heartworm Testing: $15

In order to be reimbursed, a resident must follow these guidelines:

  • Owners can take the animal to any low cost spay and neuter clinic or to their private veterinarian.
  • They must submit an itemized receipt with the owner’s name and address printed on it to The Cannoli Fund within 45 days after the surgery.
  • The amounts listed are maximum amounts.  If a resident pays less than the stated amounts, then they will only be reimbursed for the actual amount of the service.
  • Funding is not available for routine examinations/vaccinations.

To be reimbursed, please send receipts to:

The Cannoli Fund

Do You Know Lily & Roland Lopez?

Lily & Roland LopezLily and Roland bought the Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast in the King William neighborhood in January of 2011, and have been living there since.

A San Antonio native, Roland is a self-employed locksmith with 27 years of experience. He was born and raised in San Antonio and has lived here his entire life. Like so many San Antonio natives, he has been a die-hard Spurs fan since childhood. His other interests include fishing, walking and bird-watching (in fact, every room in the Brackenridge House is named after a bird!). When he is not doing handy-work in the B&B (or locksmith work), you’ll often find him walking along the San Antonio river, watching the Spurs, or feeding the birds. Continue reading
